Getting started with the Fantasy League planner

Load your team by ID, plan rounds ahead, test chips and keep several drafts, all in your browser.

Fantasy League is built around one idea: you should be able to see a whole run of gameweeks before you commit a transfer. The planner loads your real squad, projects every player's points for each upcoming round, and lets you move pieces around until the plan looks right. Nothing you do here touches your official team, so you can be as ambitious or as cautious as you like.

Start by loading your team. Open your Points page on the official FPL site and copy the number in the address bar after "entry". Paste it into the Load team dialog in the header. The first time, a free account opens your squad review: your email, a password and a few quick questions. We fetch your current squad, bank, free transfers and the chips you have already used from the public FPL API. The planner opens on the next deadline with your starting eleven on the pitch and the bench underneath.

The round bar across the top lets you jump to any gameweek through the end of the season. Each round shows the squad as it would look after every transfer planned before it, with the bank and free transfers updated along the way. A small dot on a round means you already have transfers or a chip planned there, which makes it easy to spot where your plan gets busy.

To make a transfer, tap a player on the pitch and choose Transfer out. The picker shows every player in that position you can afford, with their next three fixtures and their projected points over the next five rounds. Rows that would break the three-per-club rule or your budget are greyed out with the reason, so you never build an illegal squad by accident. Hits are calculated automatically when you exceed your free transfers.

Chips sit under the round bar. Tap Wildcard, Free Hit, Bench Boost or Triple Captain to plan them into the selected round; the projected points update straight away, including the extra bench points from a Bench Boost or the tripled captain score. Chips you have already played are crossed out, and each chip is limited to one use per half of the season.

Drafts let you keep more than one plan alive. Save your current plan as a draft, give it a name such as "No Haaland" or "Early wildcard", and the Compare drafts view will line both plans up round by round with the projected totals. When a plan clearly wins, make it the active draft and keep refining it.

With a free account, everything is saved in your browser's local storage, so you can close the tab and come back later; without one, your team and plans last until you reload or close the page. The flip side is that your plans do not follow you to another device, and clearing site data removes them. If you want to share a plan, the Reveal page turns any round into a squad card you can post.

When you are not sure where a squad is weak, open Review. The Assistant checks every player for injuries, rotation, form, fixture runs and blanks, suggests affordable replacements, and can propose a five-round plan that you apply with one tap. It only ever suggests; you stay in control of every transfer.
